I want to start out this legal
page with my view on having a "legal" page.
I think it's stupid that
business people have to do this. But our lawyers wouldn't let me
put up this site unless I stuck on the standard legal stuff.
Why? Because some people like to blame others for their
problems.
In England where I live at
the moment, we aren't allowed power sockets installed in the
bathroom because some idiot 50 years ago had a bath with his
toaster. In America, businesses get sued every day because
some customers don't take responsibility for their life
(like the guy who crashed his motorhome, then tried to
put in a negligence case against the manufacturers. He said
because it wouldn't keep driving while he went in the back
and made a sandwich sandwich – source http://www.darwinawards.com/).
This page is quite a mouthful but
I have tried to
simplify it as best I could.
Basically it's the usual legalese guff: we'll deliver what
we said we would. You'll take responsibility for your
actions and won't do something dumb with the info we give
you (like swimming with kitchen appliances); and generally that we'll both be good people and do
lots of stuff together.
The modified Lawyerspeak version follows... hopefully you'll
get a chuckle out of it at the same time.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS DELIVERY
Usually products are shipped within 2 working days of an order. If you’re living in the USA then delivery is within 3 days of being shipped. If you live in Uzbekistan then the mule may take longer to reach you so delivery will be a bit longer. Officially, goods are sent on or before 30 days after approval or acceptance of funds to our accounts.
We'll do our best to ensure you get your
products as soon as possible but arrival time is dependant
on local and international carriers - therefore we can't be
held liable for delays.
USE OF INFORMATION The
information we give you (including but not limited to the
info on this site and in the packs, kits, emails and
courses) is for informational and educational purposes only
and Matthew White Publishing won't be held liable for any
damages arising from its usage. We don't make any types of
claims that require FDA, TGA, EPA, IRS, ICC, IOC or any
other Alphabet Organisation's approval or regulatory
acceptance and you accept that our products are not a
substitute for advice from various professionals.
We honestly believe that our products are valuable and will
improve people's lives but in legal terminology they are not
sold or offered as being fit for purpose. We make
suggestions in good faith but your usage of those
suggestions is your own choice and as a result all the
consequences of that usage (good or bad) are yours. Having
said that, no change on your part will occur unless you put
into action any advice given.
GUARANTEES
Guarantees will be honoured for for any product they were advertised with. As you can see by the spelling of “honoured” we’re running by UK law. Basically it means you’ll be 100% covered by any guarantee. You’ll get your money back and it’ll happen promptly.
REFUNDS Refunds or
replacements not covered by guarantees will be given if the goods arrive damaged from
transit or due to a mistake in printing, but not from poor
choosing or second thoughts, buyer's remorse, etc. Basically
we think the products are good, and so did you at the time
of buying. The decision for a refund or a replacement is at
our sole discretion. We are however reasonable people and we
expect others in the world to be (until or unless they show
otherwise) so if you have a complaint or wish to claim for a
refund or replacement the first step is to contact us by
email stating why. We'll usually then require you to send
back the goods in their current condition so we can swap
them for you. If the product was faulty then we won't be covering
your delivery costs back to us though - only the product
cost paid.
LOCAL VARIATIONS Of course,
all of the above is subject to local laws where absolutely
required, meaning things like your statutory rights are not
affected, etc. But that also means that you are required to
follow the laws of your local area for example minimum age
to purchase material or give information to us (like our
email lists) or the payment of local taxes, compliance with
export restrictions etc. In other words, it is legal for us
to make and sell the information where we are, but it is up
to you to make sure it is legal for you to buy or use the
information where you are.
PAYMENTS Payments are in
US$ will be drawn as such from you account. All other
currencies will be charged by the appropriate US$ amount and
will be converted by your bank at their rates. This will be
noted on your statements and may have minor exchange
fluctuations as a result.
The parent company is Practical Results Network Ltd and that’s the name you’ll see appear on your statements (it’s our trading name). We occasionally use the trading names of the websites you deal with – after talking with customers like you, we’ve been told it makes it easier to understand.
